The TN72 GPS Recieiver is an affordable and practical position source for Trig transponders.* By adding GPS information to the transponder output, the aircraft’s precise GNSS location is transmitted to other ADS-B equipped aircraft—improving electronic visibility and safety. The TN72 GPS receiver and TA70 WAAS GPS antenna (sold separately) present the perfect solution for pilots of gliders to GA aircraft that fly in non-mandatory airspace, or where ADS-B equipage is voluntary, and who don’t require the more costly TSO-C145 technology.

The TN72 is compatible with any GPS antenna approved to ETSO C190 or C114a. Where a non-TSO antenna is used, the antenna must include an integral amplifier with gain of not less than 20dB. The recommended antenna is the Trig TA70, which is available to order separately. Recommended antenna cables: RG400 or RG142.

Weighing in at only 3.8 ounces, the TN72 is lightweight, energy efficient, and easy to install. As a blind unit, it can be fixed away from the panel, saving space and creating no disruption to other avionics. It meets the FAA’s TSO-C199 certification standard for a Traffic Awareness Beacon System (TABS).
